Concrete Patio Construction in Flushing, NY: Outdoor Space That Drains Right and Lasts

A patio that pools water, cracks after one winter, or pitches toward the house is a construction problem, not a material problem.

🧱 Consistent Concrete Quality 🚚 On-Time Delivery 🤝 Supplier & Contractor Expertise 📍 Locally Owned & Operated

A well-built concrete patio adds usable outdoor space and holds up to decades of foot traffic, weather, and New York winters. A patio poured on a poorly prepared base, pitched the wrong direction, or mixed without air entrainment for outdoor exposure is a problem you're living with for years. We construct concrete patios across the boroughs using our own concrete, with proper subbase prep, drainage slope, and the right mix for outdoor flatwork in the Northeast. Call (718) 939-3245 for a free estimate.

New patio installations, replacements of old deteriorated slabs, and extensions of existing concrete outdoor areas all fit here. If your current patio is cracked, sunken, draining toward the house instead of away from it, or too damaged to resurface, construction of a new slab is the right move. If you're starting from scratch on a backyard or side yard, we pour the slab foundation for the usable outdoor space you need.

Good patio construction accounts for drainage from the start. A slope pitched toward the building causes water to pool against the foundation. Proper grading, combined with an air-entrained mix for freeze-thaw resistance, is what separates a patio that lasts from one that requires ongoing attention after every winter.

WHEN YOU NEED CONCRETE PATIO CONSTRUCTION

OUR CONCRETE PATIO CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Call (718) 939-3245 and tell us the patio dimensions, site conditions, and whether you need demolition of existing concrete first. We assess the site, confirm the grade and drainage requirements, and provide a free written estimate. Once approved, we prepare the subbase with proper compaction, set forms to the correct slope, and pour using air-entrained concrete at the appropriate PSI for exterior flatwork. We finish the surface to the look you want, smooth or broom-finished for traction, and let it cure properly before the area is put back in use.

CONCRETE PATIO CONSTRUCTION COST IN FLUSHING

Cost depends on the patio size, site access, whether demolition of existing concrete is included, and any finish requirements. Backyard sites with limited truck access may require pumping, which we can coordinate. We provide free written estimates before any work begins. Call (718) 939-3245.

WHY CHOOSE US

55+ years in New York City's concrete industry. We use our own concrete on every patio pour, the same material we supply to other contractors throughout NYC, so we stand behind both the product and the work. Customers come back to us because we get the drainage right, the mix is correct for the climate, and the estimate is honest before the first yard is poured.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • A standard residential patio slab is typically 4 inches thick on a properly compacted base. That thickness handles foot traffic and outdoor furniture without issue. If the patio will have vehicle access or support heavier loads, the thickness increases accordingly. We'll confirm the right spec for your application during the estimate.

  • For a standard ground-level patio below 30 inches above grade, a building permit is typically not required for the slab itself. However, if the patio involves structural changes, is elevated, or sits adjacent to public sidewalk, permit requirements may apply. We confirm what your specific project requires before starting work.

  • The mix and the base preparation are the two factors that matter most. Exterior concrete in Queens needs to be air-entrained to resist the expansion caused by freeze-thaw cycles. The subbase needs to be compacted so it doesn't settle and cause the slab to crack. Proper control joints also give the concrete a place to move without surface cracking. We address all three on every pour.

  • A properly poured concrete patio with the right mix for outdoor exposure can last 25 to 30 years or more with basic maintenance. The biggest threats to longevity are freeze-thaw damage from a mix that wasn't air-entrained, poor drainage causing water to pond on the surface, and subbase settlement. We control all of those at the pour.

  • For work that alters a curb cut or touches the public sidewalk, permits from the NYC DOT and Department of Buildings are required. Private driveway work within the property line may not require the same permits. We'll confirm what your specific project needs during the estimate.
